"Everything is Connected" is both the title of the work and its message. This religious-like statement may feel like a fantasy to some, be welcomed by others, or even be an obvious truth to some. But it has been scientifically proven that everything on Earth is connected.

For example, 30 billion years ago, when humans didn't exist, the Earth's atmosphere had more carbon dioxide than oxygen, so only single-celled organisms could survive. One of these organisms was cyanobacteria. Thanks to its proliferation, 9 billion years later, the oxygen in the atmosphere increased, forming the ozone layer. This allowed multi-celled organisms to appear on Earth, slowly shaping the planet as we know it today. We can attribute the current ecosystem of the Earth to cyanobacteria.

Humans, being capable of consciousness, are the life forms with the greatest influence. "Everything is Connected" is an attempt to express this direct connection between us and our environment. Since humans have the intellectual capacity to understand this connection, they have a choice. They must decide whether to maintain the current state of the Earth, find a way to coexist with nature, or maybe use technology to replace nature. A series of choices lies before us.

"Everything is Connected(모든 것이 연결 되어 있다)"는 작품 제목이자 메시지이다. 종교적인 메시지 같은 이 문장은 누군가에게는 환상으로, 환영으로 혹은 당연한 이야기로 느껴질 것이지만 지구의 모든 것이 연결되어 있다는 것은 과학적으로 증명되었다. 예컨데 인간이 존재하지 않았던 30억 년 전, 지구의 대기에는 산소보다 이산화탄소가 많아서, 단세포 유기체만이 생존할 수 있었고, 당시 생존했던 유기체 중 하나가 남세균이다. 남세균은 지구 역사상 최초로 광합성을 한 생명체로 이산화탄소를 산소로 바꿨다. 남세균의 증식으로 9억 년 뒤, 지구 대기의 산소가 증가하고, 오존층이 형성되었다. 오존층 덕분에 지구에는 다세포 생명체가 출현하게 된다. 결국 지금 지구의 생태계는 남세균 덕분이라고 할 수 있다. 인간은 가장 큰 영향력을 행사 할 수 있는 생명체이다. "모든 것이 연결되어 있다"는 이 연결성 표형하는 작업이다. 인간은 이러한 연결성을 이해할 수 있는 지적 능력을 가지고 있기 때문에 선택지 있다. 인간은 현재 지구의 모습을 그대로 유지할 것인지, 자연과 공존할 수 있는 방법을 찾을 것인지, 기술을 이용해 자연을 대체할 것인지, 일련의 선택지가 우리 앞에 놓여 있다.
